Interim Leadership & Ongoing Support

Hands-on leadership when you need it. Strategic support when you want it.

What it is

Two different ways to work with me:

Interim Leadership — I step in as temporary content leadership while you're hiring, restructuring, or dealing with a gap. I run the team, make decisions, keep production moving, and get things stable so you can bring in the right permanent hire without everything falling apart in the meantime.

Ongoing Support — Prepaid consulting hours at a set rate for clients who want continued strategic guidance. You've got the strategy, your team is executing, but you want someone to sense-check decisions, review work, sit on editorial boards, or help navigate challenges as they come up.

A bit about how I lead

I've spent over a decade leading content teams — from big and small agencies to scale-ups. I know what it takes to keep a team moving, make decisions under pressure, and balance stakeholder needs with team wellbeing.

My leadership style is direct but empathetic. I set clear priorities, unblock problems quickly, and make decisions so the team can keep producing. I don't micromanage, and I don't let things drift. I focus on putting people in their power — giving them the clarity, tools, and confidence to own their work and do it well. And if we can, have a little fun along the way.

I care about the work and the people doing it — which means I push for quality while protecting the team from burnout.

If you need someone who can step in, take the wheel, and keep things steady while you sort out the long-term plan — that's what I do.

What this looks like

Interim Leadership:

  • Leading content team meetings and setting priorities

  • Making creative and production decisions

  • Managing workflows and unblocking bottlenecks

  • Keeping stakeholders aligned while you hire

  • Advice on job descriptions and hiring

  • Training or onboarding the permanent hire when they start

Ongoing Support:

  • Quarterly, monthly or bi-weekly check-ins to review work and decisions

  • Sitting on editorial boards or content planning sessions

  • Reviewing campaigns, messaging, or content before launch

  • Troubleshooting challenges as they come up

  • Strategic guidance when priorities or goals shift

Why it matters

Interim Leadership solves a specific problem: your Head of Content left, or you're spinning up a new function and don't have leadership in place yet, or you're restructuring and need someone to hold things together while you figure out the long-term plan. Without someone in that role, content production stalls, the team loses direction, quality slips, and hiring takes longer because you're firefighting instead of planning.

Interim leadership keeps things running. I make decisions, unblock the team, keep production moving, and stabilise operations so you can hire the right person rather than the first available person.

Ongoing Support is for teams who've done the work — you have a strategy, you have workflows, your team knows what they're doing — but you want someone to stay close. Not full-time oversight, but regular check-ins, a second pair of eyes on big decisions, someone to workshop challenges with, or strategic guidance when things shift.

It's the difference between "we're on our own now" and "we've got someone in our corner when we need them."
